[MSNBC] The Trump administration has removed Caleb Vitello from his role as acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement amid frustration from both border czar Tom Homan and President Trump over lower-than-expected deportation numbers and media leaks. Despite his dismissal, Vitello will remain at ICE to oversee enforcement operations while a new acting director is soon to be announced. Vitello, an ICE veteran with over 20 years of experience, was well-regarded for his even-keeled leadership in a challenging immigration system.
